A file for 1 character will be arranged into 2 rows and 4 columns equaling 8 images. The size for a character image can be changed freely (normally 48x48), and consist of 4 directions (down, left, right, up) and 3 patterns for a total of 12 patterns that will be arranged in the provided order. Characters (img/characters) Images shown for the characters on the map. The upper part of images in front-view battles and the lower part of images in side-view battles will be cropped then displayed. Battlebacks (img/battlebacks1, img/battlebacks2) Images used as the backgrounds for the Battle Screen.Ī battleback measures 1000x740 in size, backgrounds in the battlebacks1 folder are primarily for floors, and those in the battlebacks2 folder are primarily for walls, and you can put these into any combination that you like in order to create your battleback. * Images used are the same size as in the previous version (VX Ace). A file can contain up to 20 blocks (100 cells). Animation Patterns (img/animations) These are primarily the images used for animations shown as effects in the Battle Screen.ġ cell contains an image that measures 192x192 in size, and 5 cells lined up horizontally are treated as a block which will be stretched vertically only as necessary, becoming 1 file. I am far too excited by this right now.All images will use the PNG format. After I finish the code and fix everything the way I need it, I will DL FRAPS and record a small videoĪlso, I will do a google search later for those terms. Hopefully it works as I plan and looks epic Once thats done I will upload a video for you to see them in action. I can go into further detail on its functions if you wishĪfter I get the testing done, and code a little more of my gravity feature (which was reliant upon images such as these - not going into much detail here). If you are wanting to have alternate layers though (as I am) the images have to all be the same size (like the ones you provided). If you have an image that is say 64*32 it will loop the image over the entire screen - like a scrolled parallax. Unfortunately, the linked script doesnt accomodate for alternative sized images. Even if I can only have one of my levels looking as cool as this one will - I will be satisfied. I have downloaded them and will begin placement and tests shortly, from the look of them though they will be perfect. You'll get better results if you go for "seamless patterns" or "seamless backgrounds". It's basically the same pic as the source, but with a very minor quality pass.Īlso, a tip: try not to google "parallax backgrounds". If anyone needs the non-layered image, here it is: Any further and you'll start to see the loss of quality in the pic.Īlso, please share a video to see the stuff in action, it sounds really cool. Easy peasy.Įach layer modification should hold its own if you decide to move the layers on top of it about 20 pixels up or down. Now, for the technical part - If the script you linked can manage the three separately while having three images of different sizes as sources, you can erase the four pixels I added in the top corners of the Mid and Top layers (both sides, 2 pixels each). Just to give a more accurate idea of what I am wanting to do.Ĭlick to expand.Well, this is my best shot right now, the RTP example you gave, but dissected, layered and retouched. I am sure if you wanted to make more smaller ones then people using the aforementioned high fantasy resources would be VERY grateful In order to do this correctly I need layers of things like 'grass', 'buildings' and 'clouds'.Īgain though, even though I am not currently able to use that image, I am sure there will be others that find it VERY useful. I am actually trying to use numerous layers to create the illusion of distance. There are also other fog type scripts that allow multiple parallaxes to be added and modified on the map. Doesn't do Scene_Map but if your able to code it in yourself it wouldn't be hard to do. HERE is a script that allows multiple backgrounds to be added (like parallaxes) into any scene. Unfortunately, it is too good for me to use (I'm looking for more of an RTP vibe - should have probably stated that, sorry :/)Īlso, yes, it is possible to have multiple parallaxes in vx ace, you need a script though. Vx ace should be able to use that image without any issues. That image is very very nice, would fit in VERY well with PVGames fantasy resources ^_^
